The city offers housing rehabilitation loans and grants to qualified low income households. The loans are 20 year loans at 3% interest and some loans are deferred. Rehabilitation jobs can be as small as a roof replacement or as big as a total demolition and reconstruction. All rehab work is put out for competitive bid; the work is perfomed by licensed contractors and inspected by city inspectors before payment for work is made. All work performed by contractors has a minimum of 1 year warranty.
