The Community Development Department’s mission is to be advocates for improving Wasco's quality of life through excellence in design and the wise use of human and natural resources. Community Development has a special challenge to be mindful about the long-range consequences of our present actions and the interrelatedness of decisions. Community Development promotes the inclusion of the public in the planning process. Community Development strives to provide outreach to under-represented groups.
The City of Wasco Planning Commission is appointed by the Wasco City Council. The Planning Commission serves as a policy advisory committee to the City Council and has jurisdiction over various planning permits. The City of Wasco Planning Commission meets on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers located at 746 8th Street, Wasco, CA.
